Baton Rouge Roof Restoration | Ryson Roofing
In the roofing industry, it is common to hear the word restoration. There are many companies that manufacture products designed to be applied over your existing roofing materials. This process usually applies to commercial roofing to include but not limited to; PVC, TPO, EPDM, MOD-BIT, built-up, and even some SPF roofing systems. But you can never apply this type of product onto a shingle roof. When it comes to roof restoration with shingle roofing a complete roof replacement is usually needed.
Roof Replacement for Shingle Roofs
When dealing with shingle roofing material, you can not apply anything over the existing shingles in an attempt to restore the shingles. In the past I have seen people re-roof a home and install the new shingles directly over the old shingles. In some states this practice is accepted. In Louisiana however, you can not install over old shingles. You must first remove the old shingles before installing new ones. Once the old shingles have been removed you can get a feel for the soundness of the plywood underneath by simply walking around the roof looking for soft spots. If soft spots are found you will have to replace the drywall and the underlayment. Most residential insurance roof restoration jobs will require a complete roof replacement.
The Ryson Roofing Process
This entire insurance roof restoration process is simplified by Ryson Roofing’s process. Ryson Roofing begins by offering a free roof inspection and identifying if any roof damage exists. If damage is located Ryson Roofing will document the damage and ask the homeowner to file the insurance claim. Once the claim is filed Ryson Roofing will return to meet with your insurance adjuster in order to point out the damage found. We have repeated this process thousands of times and have become the experts in southeastern Louisiana when it comes to dealing with insurance claims.
